Obama is a little unnerving. even for a politician, the dude is slick. He's great at dodging issues, he's great at playing the charm card, and he is great at manipulation.
McCain doesn't make me any happier. He's not as scary as Obama is, but he is...meh. For a Republican, he sure votes on the Democrat side of issues an awful lot.
However...
McCain now has Palin running with him.
I'm still reading up on Palin, but so far, I like what I see. She seems to actually give a crap about more than just keeping her cushy elected position, which is a lot more than I can say about a lot of politicians these days. She actually makes logical decisions regarding things like taxes and budgets. She has called people on their sleazy political maneuvering. She's not just a politician, she's an actual human being!
The press is making a big fuss about how McCain's choosing Palin is a desperate move. It may very well be. It's working, though. I know I'm far from the only person who was totally put off by both candidates but now strongly leaning towards McCain because of Palin.
It's not a done deal yet, I still have plenty to learn about this chick...but so far, she has my vote.

You've articulated what many people are feeling about the two candidates. Sadly, for the American people, when one goes to vote many will be casting their vote "for the lesser of two evils." With the various scandals in Palin's closet just starting to be revealed to the press and the people, I think McCain will have wished he did more "due dilegence" rather than simply finding a woman to go on the ticket with him. Having researched Palin, I really think the Democrats have a better VP option. And maybe that's going to be the deciding factor when many people go to vote in November.
